What are the advantages of the dimmable 50 Watt SANlight® LED lamp?

Why is our reflective foil so special?

Our reflective film was developed in close cooperation with a partner company and has food safe certification. It uses a special food-safe adhesive and PE film to ensure that no toxic substances are released . This is especially important for growing plants that will later be consumed. Do I need 200 watts for a grow cabinet? 

Many competitors, for example, offer 100x100x200cm tents or cabinets (+/- 10cm) with 250 or 300 watts. Growers then automatically think that with more watts, the yield also increases. But this is definitely not the case. Often, 250 / 300 watt LED lamps in tents are a waste of money. They create too high electricity costs. You can achieve the same yields with good (SANlight® / Bonsanto® LEDs) at 100 watts. This way, you can easily save up to €500 in electricity costs per year with almost the same yields. The same applies to so-called grow cabinets. We recommend starting with less wattage to be as cost-effective as possible.

Why is that?

• • • More wattage does not mean more yield. The correct PAR value is decisive. Expensive LEDs usually have a much higher efficiency (PAR / QM).
    • The cultivation area is decisive for the yield. Means, on one square meter it doesn't make much difference if you grow with a high quality LED 100 Watt or a cheap 250 Watt LED plant lamp. The yield will not be a big difference in the end. However, the cost of electricity will differ significantly.
