What are autoflower seeds?

Automatic Seeds, also known as autoflower seeds or autoflowering seeds, are cannabis seeds that have an automatic flowering cycle. Unlike other cannabis seeds, Automatic Seeds start flowering automatically regardless of the light cycle. This makes them a preferred choice for novice growers, as they allow for easy cultivation.

The automatic flowering of these seeds is achieved by genetically crossing Cannabis ruderalis, a wild and autoflowering cannabis strain, with Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica. This combination allows growers to combine autoflowering characteristics with other preferred traits such as flavor and resin production.

Unterschied Autoflower Samen und feminisierte Samen?

Automatic Seeds and feminized seeds are two different types of cannabis seeds. Automatic Seeds, as mentioned earlier, are autoflowering seeds that automatically enter the flowering phase regardless of the light cycle. Growing Automatic Seeds is especially popular with beginners because it allows for an easier growing process and requires less attention to the light cycle. In addition, growing times are usually shorter with Automatic Seeds, as the plants naturally flower and grow faster. However, yields may be slightly lower compared to feminized seeds.

Feminized seeds are specifically bred to produce female plants that are responsible for producing flowers and buds. By excluding male plants, growers can ensure that their crop remains free from unwanted pollination. Feminized seeds require careful control of the light cycle, as they usually require a change from the vegetative phase to the flowering phase. Compared to Automatic Seeds, feminized seeds can usually give higher yields.

On the grow market you can also find feminized Automatic Seeds. By combining feminized genes with the autoflowering trait, you as a grower get feminized Automatic Seeds that offer both the benefits of female plants and the automatic flowering time. These feminized Automatic Seeds allow you to produce female plants while enjoying the ease of use and fast life cycle of Automatics.

Vorteile von Automatic Seeds?

Automatic Seeds offer many advantages for cannabis cultivation and are therefore popular with both novice and experienced growers. Their robust genetics make them resistant to beginner mistakes, pests and diseases. They are easy to grow and require less supervision. Their automatic flowering time means that light conditions do not need to be monitored or controlled.

Another advantage of Automatic Seeds is their shorter growth and flowering time compared to regular seeds. Harvesting can usually be done within 8 to 12 weeks after germination, which shortens the waiting time. Their compact size makes them well suited for discreet growing, especially in limited spaces. For indoor grow of Autoflowers we recommend you our Bonsanto Growboxen im Koffer-Design. For outdoor growing you can use our Bonsanto Grow box XS or Outdoor Growbox .

Advantages of Automatic Seeds

Ideale Anbaubedingungen für Automatic Seeds?

The ideal growing environment for your autoflowering plant depends mainly on the variety you choose and your desired results. It is therefore important to learn in advance about the specific requirements of your seeds.

Exposure: Although Automatic Seeds automatically enter the flowering phase, they still require sufficient light to grow healthily. As a rule, we recommend a lighting period of about 18-24 hours per day. A high quality LED plant lamp is recommended for indoor growing.

Temperature: The ideal temperature for Automatic Seeds is usually between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius during the day and between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius at night. It is important to avoid extreme temperature fluctuations, as this can affect the growth of the plant. Good ventilation and air circulation are also important to reduce the risk of mold growth.

Irrigation: Compared to photoperiod varieties, Autoflowers require smaller amounts of water because they have a smaller root system. Make sure the soil is neither too dry nor too wet, and avoid over- or under-watering.

Humidity: The ideal humidity varies depending on the stage of development of the plants. During the vegetative phase, humidity should be between 50 and 70 percent. During the flowering phase, it can be lowered to 40-50 percent to reduce the risk of mold growth. Monitoring humidity with a hygrometer is advisable, and sufficient ventilation is also important. In a Bonsanto grow box, a hygrometer is not necessary, as all components are optimally matched.

Fertilizer: You can also support the growth of your autoflowers with nutrients. Choose a fertilizer specifically designed for cannabis cultivation and follow the manufacturer's recommended dosage. Keep in mind that autoflowers require less nutrients than photoperiod strains due to their size. Therefore, for autoflowers, use about half of the manufacturer's recommended dosage and observe the reaction of your plants to the fertilizer.

Grow Medium: Automatic Seeds can be grown in a variety of growing media. Popular options for Autoflowers are soil, coco fiber or hydroponics. Especially well suited for Automatic Seeds is our Bonsanto Premium soil.

Scrog und Autoflower Samen?

The SCROG method, also known as Screen of Green, is a popular growing method that can be used for both photoperiod and automatic seeds. Its main objective is to make the most of the available space and achieve an even distribution of light to maximize the yield and quality of the buds. To apply this method, a net or ScrOG grid is simply installed over the plants to create a horizontal plane on which to support the shoots. The shoots are then woven through the grid or net to create an even surface area and distribution of plant parts. This controls the growth of the plant and allows efficient use of light. The SCROG method can produce impressive results by ensuring improved light exposure for all parts of the plant and promoting uniform development of the buds.
